Ingredients

Scale
  1. 4 medium clean white potato (with skin on)
  2. Butter (unsalted or salted)
  3. Salt and pepper (if salted butter is used, then check for taste first)
  4. Aluminum foil (to wrap potato with)
  5. Hot coals for a braai or barbecue.

Instructions

  1. If you are braaiing and have hot coals then make this potato,
  2. Clean and cut the slit on top of the potato skin and wrap the potato twice in foil. To protect them from burning.
  3. When the coals are right, place the foil wrapped potato on the side of the hot coals. (you braai or grill your meat on the hot coals on the grill)
  4. Turn them with a braai tong now and again so they cook evenly. Stick with a braai fork or sharp knife to see if they are soft and cooked. (you can do this through the foil)
  5. When they are soft and your meal is ready, open them up and cut them and squeeze them to push the cooked potato out. Then dot them with butter and salt and pepper them to taste. Leave them in their skins. Serve on the plate with your meats and enjoy.
  6. A great tasty side dish.

Notes

For your barbecue or braai use wood or charcoal or the gas barbecue for grilling these foil wrapped potato’s.

HINT; to light your charcoal brickets easily add some sugar on top.

PS: Baking them wrapped in foil in the oven is also another way to have them.
