Ingredients

  1. 500 grams (1 lb) ground turkey
  2. 1/2 cup of fine bread crumbs
  3. 1 egg
  4. 1 cup of grated granny smith apple
  5. 1 teaspoon of dried sage herbs
  6. 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  7. 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  8. 1 teaspoon  of salt and ground black pepper
  9. finely Chopped parsley leaves

Cranberry sauce to go with the meatballs

Instructions

  1. Always start with gathering your ingredients and measuring them out.
  2. Then preheat the oven to 220 deg. C (425 deg. F) and grease your your sheet pan or dish to bake these delicious appetizer meatballs. Using olive oil.
  3. In a large bowl combine your ground turkey with the grated granny smith apples and the bread crumbs and an egg. As well as the dried spices of sage, onion and garlic powder. Salt and ground black pepper. Chop up finely the parsley leaves and mix these all together with your hands. (or forks)
  4. Using a tablespoon scoop out some mixture, not a heaped spoon. This is to make sure all the balls are equal when rolled in your hands. They should be about 1-2 inches in size to make small, mini turkey meatball.
  5. Place the rolled meatballs in the greased dish or sheet pan, Leaving a little space to cook evenly.
  6. Bake in the oven on the middle shelf for about 13-15 minutes until cooked. You can turn them over to have them bake evenly and lightly brown.
  7. In a pot add your cranberry sauce that was made previously, and warm this up on a medium heat. Just until warm.
  8. Add your cooked meatballs into the sauce and coat them with it. Or you could serve the sauce separate.
  9. Remove and serve the turkey meatballs on a platter dish with some sauce coating them and insert a toothpick in for easy self help appetizer.
  10. Serve warm or cold. your choice. Add a parsley leaf or two for garnish. Tasty appetizer or snack for parties or family gatherings.
