- 4 cups of cubed bread
- 1/4 cup of raisons
- 2 cups of peeled and cubed or sliced apples
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 1 3/4 cups of milk
- 1/4 cup of butter
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
- 2 large eggs beaten
- Vanilla Sauce
- 1/4 cup of white sugar
- 1/4 cup of brown sugar
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 1/2 cup of butter
- 1teaspoon of vanilla essence
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 175 Deg. C (350 Deg. F)
- Grease the baking dish of(about 7 x 11inch)
- Add the bread raisons and apple slices in a large bowl.
- In a saucepan add the butter and 1 cup of brown sugar, 1 3/4 cups of milk and the 1/4 cup of butter. Melt over a medium heat.
- Then pour over the bread mixture.
- In another small bowl mix the egg vanilla and cinnamon.
- Pour the bread mixture into baking dish and pour this egg mixture over the bread mixture.
- Bake in the oven for 40 -50 minutes until test cooked in the middle or the apple pieces are tender.
- While the bread pudding is baking mix and heat up the white and brown sugar and butter on a medium heat, bring to the boil. Remove and then add the vanilla and mix.
- When the dish is baked pour over the bread pudding. Serve
