1 sheet of puff pastry
1/2cup apricot or peach jam
1 egg
2 teaspoons of icing sugar (fine sugar)
Instructions
Use puff pastry sheets bought and it should just be barely thawed. Make it easier to work with. Roll it out and leave on the sheet it comes with or place it on the floured board.
Grease and line a baking sheet and preheat the oven to 180 deg. C. (375 deg. F)
Cut with a pizza cutter the pastry into long strips as many as you can. But making them no less than 2 inches wide. Then divide those strips into rectangles that should be about 4 inches long. As we going to fold the one half over the top of the jam. The one half of the rectangle should have at least 4 small slits in. Keeping a edge on that half.
Add two teaspoon of apricot or peach jam in the middle of the uncut half. Do this with all the rectangles.
Mix the egg with a little water and paste the edges of the triangle so when you fold over the slit half of the rectangle it will be sealed. Press down the edges lightly so it does stay together. Do this with all the rectangles puff pastry pieces.
Baste the egg mix on top of the pastry snacks so when baked it is brown.
Place the prepared puff pastry jam snacks into the oven and bake for 18-20 minutes. Until nice and brown and the pastry is baked.
Remove them with a egg lifter as the jam will be very hot. Carefully place them on a cooling rack. When cool dust with icing sugar.
Serve for a delicious sweet snack for tea with family or a tasty snack or treat.
