Ingredients

  1. 1 packet of Nilla cookies
  2. 1 liter of homemade custard or bought
  3. 1 liter of whipped full cream or cool whip cream in a can
  4. 23 ripe bananas cut into pieces
  5. Mint leaves for decoration, or grated peppermint crisp or chocolate.

Instructions

  1. Obtain all your ingredients for the recipe and the trifle bowl.
  2. Boil your custard to a thick consistency, using custard powder that requires sugar and milk. According to your package.
  3. Whip your full cream to a thick smooth consistency. Or alternatively use cool whip in a can. Your choice.
  4. Slice the bananas, add some lemon juice to coat them so they do not brown, and start to make the trifle in the bowl.
  5. Start off with half of the custard at the bottom of the bowl and then add your nilla cookies. 
  6. Next add half of your cream and then more custard in layers. Add your banana slices over the custard, and place some over the sides for decoration. 
  7. Add the final layer of cream and decorate with cookies and sliced banana with broken mint leaves.
  8. Chill sealed with cling wrap plastic in the fridge until served.
  9. Serve into bowls for a dessert for after dinner or lunch for Christmas day.
  10. An easy yet simple idea for a pleasing and festive season dessert or pudding.

Notes

  • use any cookies or finger biscuits you prefer or may obtain.
  • full cream can be used or cool whip in a can.
  • make custard from powder or buy in a box. or use banana flavored milk pudding.
  • For decoration on the cream, grate some peppermint crisp, or chocolate for garnish.
