1 roll of puff pastry (bought frozen)
6–8 slices of ham
1cup of grated cheddar or mozzarella cheese
1 1/2 teaspoons of Dijon mustard (optional)
Instructions
Defrost and layer out the puff pastry dough on a bit of flour on the kitchen top or bread board. If on its wax proof paper use that.
Preheat your oven to 200 deg. C (400 deg. F) and grease and line your baking pan.
Spread the mustard out sparingly over the puff pastry.
Layer slices of your favorite ham on top, overlap if needed.
Sprinkle the grated cheese over the ham evenly.
Roll the puff pastry up into a long roll. Make sure the roll is tight enough, wrap up with cling wrap plastic, and place in the fridge for about 20 minutes. It will be easier to cut and work with, believe me.
Then slice the rolled up pastry into half inch wide slices, should get at least 12 rolls. (depending on your pastry rolls)
Place these rolls an inch apart from each other on the prepared sheet pan.
Place in the oven and bake until the puff pastry is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly. should be about 18-20 minutes.
You can garnish with some basil or chopped parsley leaves.
Cool slightly on a cooling rack and serve warm or room temperature with a tomato sauce.
