Homemade Sweet Chili Sauce recipe to easily make on the stove top with some hot chilies for a versatile condiment and free of additives.
1/3 Cup of rice vinegar
1/3 cup of water
1/3 cup of sugar plus 2 tablespoons
1Tablespoon of rice vinegar
1 teaspoon of hot chili finely chopped.(blended)
1 1/2 teaspoon of chopped fine garlic cloves
1 teaspoon of finely chopped ginger
1 teaspoon of soy sauce
2 teaspoons of cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon of water
In a sauce pan place all the ingredient in (but not the cornstarch mixture.) Bring this to a boil stirring regularly until the sugar has been dissolved.
Once the sugar has been dissolved stir in the cornstarch mixture and mix to a smooth consistancy until it thickens. (maybe about a minute)
Take off and leave to cool, then fill an airtight jar with this sweet chili sauce. Keep in the refrigerator for about a week and this mixture should make about 1 cup.
