Homemade Tangy Lasagna Dish recipe. A casserole with ground beef meat, layered with pasta sheets, tomato sauce, and cheeses.

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 360 g (3/4 Lb ) of lasagna sheets
  2. 1 tsp of olive oil 
  3. 900g  (2 Lb) ground beef
  4. 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  5. 2 tsp of dried oregano herbs
  6. 1 tsp Himalayan Salt 
  7. 1 tsp of freshly ground pepper
  8. 2 x 450 g (32 oz) Jars of Tomato sauce mix (Marinara) Or tins of tomato and onion. ( Tomato marina sauce. )
  9. 450 g (16 oz) of whole milk Ricotta cheese
  10. 1/2 cup of freshly grated Parmesan cheese (halved)
  11. 1/4 cup of chopped parsley and basil (plus more for garnish)
  12. 1 egg
  13. 900 g (2 Lb) of slices mozzarella

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 190 Deg. C (375 Deg. F)
  2. In a medium pan or pot add a little oil and heat it up then add the ground or minced meat and cook until brown. Breaking up big pieces until nice and fine. Remove fat from the pan of minced meat.
  3. Return the pan to the heat and add the crushed garlic and oregano herbs, stir up until all mixed up. The season with salt and pepper. Taste if it is enough of the seasonings.
  4. Add the marinara tomato sauce and mix the ingredients up well. 
  5. In another bowl add your ricotta, 1/4 cup of parmesan, parsley and egg. Season with salt and mix it well and set aside.
  6. Obtain your lasagna dish and pour in the bottom some marinara tomato sauce, and layer over this tomato sauce your lasagna sheets equally.
  7. Then layer your ricotta mixture over the lasagna and then a single layer of grated mozzarella and then some meat mixture. Repeat this order until the last layer of lasagna is layered. Top the last sheet of lasagna with meat sauce and then parmesan and mozzarella. 
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes, then increase the temperature to 200 Deg. C (400 Deg. F) and then bake uncovered for another 18-20 minutes.
  9. Garnish with parsley and serve warm with a side dish of salad or vegetables.

Notes

  • Add some milk to your tomato sauce, this will prevent it from turning out bitter or sour in the dish you preparing
