Ingredients

Scale
  1. 1 3/4 cups of flour
  2. 2 cups of sugar
  3. 3/4 cup of cocoa
  4. 1 1/2 tsp of baking powder
  5. 1 1/2 tsp of baking soda
  6. 2 eggs
  7. 1 cup of milk
  8. 1/2 cup of oil
  9. 2 tsp of vanilla essence
  10. 1 cup of boiling water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180 deg. C
  2. Grease and line the baking pans.
  3. Mix wet ingredients together until smooth and frothy. That’s eggs sugar oil and vanilla essence and a cup of milk.
  4. Keep the cup of boiled water until last.
  5. Sift the flour and baking powder and baking soda and cocoa.
  6. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mix and mix with a mixer until all is blended in. 
  7. Lastly add the cup of boiled water into the mixture and pour immediately into the baking pans for the cake.
  8. Place in the oven and bake at 180 Deg.C 35 to 40 min.

Notes

This cake may also be made as a one pan cake. Also you can include a drop of peppermint essential oil or peppermint flavor in the icing. It will give a lovely fresh taste.
