Savory Bacon Cheese Pull Apart Bread recipe. Simple appetizer or starter to bake with a ready made loaf of bread, using garlic and butter.

Ingredients

  1. 1 loaf of Italian bread loaf (or large French roll of choice)
  2. 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
  3. 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  4. 1 cup mozzarella cheese (or mix of cheddar and mozzarella)
  5. 12.5 oz package bacon pieces

Instructions

1.   Preheat the oven to 190 deg. C (375 deg. F) at least 15-20 minutes before you bake.

2.   Add the butter to a small bowl, melt in the microwave for about 30 seconds, or the heated oven until melted, then stir in the garlic.

3.  Mix the cheese and cooked bacon pieces in a medium bowl.

4.   Place the bread on a large sheet of foil on a baking sheet.

5.   Cut diagonal slices into the bread, stopping before you cut completely through. Repeat with diagonal slices the other way.

6.    Brush butter mixture into all the cracks, then fill the cracks with the bacon and cheese mixture.

7.   Wrap the bread in the foil (keeping it on the baking sheet), and bake for 15 minutes.

8.   Remove the foil, then bake for an additional 5 minutes.

9.   Serve warm by itself or with marinara sauce. OR dips or dressings
