Ingredients

  1. 1 pounds of ground beef (preferably)
  2. 1 egg
  3. 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  4. 1/3 cup chopped onion
  5. 1 clove of minced garlic
  6. 1 tablespoon of freshly chopped parsley
  7. 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  8. 1 tablespoon of prepared honey BBQ sauce

For the sauce:

  1. 1 cup of BBQ sauce
  2. 1 tablespoon of honey
  3. 1 tablespoon of Sriracha sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Cover a baking tray with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent the meatballs from sticking.
  2. To make the sauce, mix the BBQ sauce, honey, and Sriracha sauce in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until well combined. Set aside. (To cook the sauce in a pot on the stove top. Start on medium heat and bring it to simmer, then turn the heat down and stir and leave for a minute or two minutes. You sauce should be done once all the ingredients are incorporated.)
  3. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and prepared honey BBQ sauce. Mix well with your hands until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
  4. Form small meatballs with the meat mixture and place them on the prepared baking tray.
  5. Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for approximately 12 minutes. At the 6-minute mark, flip them over to ensure they brown evenly on all sides.
  6. Once the meatballs are cooked and golden brown, remove them from the oven and transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the Barbecue Honey Sriracha sauce over the meatballs and gently toss to coat them evenly with the sauce.
  7. Serve the meatballs on individual plates or on a large platter for sharing, and enjoy them as an appetizer alongside your favorite accompaniments.

Notes

● Additional Flavor: Experiment by adding other condiments and spices to the meat mixture, such as black pepper, cumin, oregano, or even a bit of grated cheese. This can add more depth of flavor to your meatballs.

● Uniform Size: Try to make all the meatballs the same size so they cook evenly. You can use an ice cream scoop or your hands to ensure they are consistently sized.

● Cooking: Keep a close eye on the cooking time, as it may vary depending on the size of the meatballs and the power of your oven. It’s important to ensure they are cooked through but not overdone to maintain juiciness.

● Sauce: If you prefer a spicier sauce, you can adjust the amount of Sriracha to your personal taste. You can also try different types of BBQ sauce for unique flavors.

● Serving: Meatballs are delicious on their own as an appetizer, but you can also serve them over a bed of rice, pasta, or salad for a more complete meal.

Serve them with toothpicks for easy consumption as appetizers at a party.
